SpaceX

During my time as a student, I worked two full-time internships at Space Exploration Technologies. While on my first internship, I was a Launch Engineer. On my second, a Vehicle and Payload Integration Engineer. I was fortunate to have been a part of the team responsible for 5 successful launches at Launch Complex 40. Below are just a few of many responsibilities I had.

  • Led a team of technicians in processing and integrating Falcon 9 Rocket flights 10,11 and 12.

  • Installed flight critical hardware and electronics.

  • Performed electrical and hardware close-out operations on the rockets to ensure they are prepared for flight.

  • Recorded, tracked and resolved vehicle and launch pad related issues.

  • Practiced Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and clean room control.

  • Maintained the hardware equipment maintenance system and oversaw all hardware non-destructive testing.

  • Composed procedures including vehicle transport and lifting operations and hydrostatic/pnuemostatic testing.

  • Updated engineering schematics for launch pad fluid systems.

  • Held responsible for the certification of a 28,000 gallon liquid oxygen tank.

  • Monitored pressure and valve configurations as ground controller during liquid oxygen fluid transfer line testing.

  • Conducted liquid oxygen storage tank filling operations.

  • Responsible for maintaining fluid system including liquid oxygen, kerosene (RP1), hydraulics, and A/C.

  • Proposed automating the launch pad by adding autonomous RP1 and liquid oxygen fill stations.

  • Maintained tubing and fittings inventory.
